Is he lying or not? The ability to tell the lie from truth is the key to success in business and marketing. Here are some cues from Ken Osborn, the founder of Californian CIA Institute
It was scientificly proved that a liar:
1. Touches his nose. When you're lying your nose tissues fill with blood, which makes your scratch your nose.
2. Uses long pauses and gap fillers like 'ah', 'er' and so on. These speech disturbances are a result of intellectual effort necessary to tell something which isn't true.
3. Says 'yes' while shaking his head. Speech and body incongruency is an indicator of lying. It's the body that usually tells the truth. So if someones says 'no' while nodding his head you shouldn't believe him.
4. Rubs his neck. It's a sign of stress, especially noticeable when someone is assuring you he'll manage with something, which he doesn't feel he'll be able to do.
5. Rubs his eyes. It's a sign your interlocutor doesn't believe you or doesn't agree with you, but doesn't want to admit it.
6. Keeps asking questions. If someone is assuring you 'the solution will increase your firm's efficiency by 30%' and ends his sentence with an upward inflection which is used in questions you are right not to believe him.
